Meredith King

Nurse Practitioner

Meredith King joined the team in June 2023.

She found her passion for pediatric palliative care during her time as a bedside NICU nurse. There, she developed a great relationship with the inpatient pediatric palliative care team and saw the important work they did for so many families and patients during their hospital stay.

Meredith always wondered about so many of her patients after they were discharged home and hoped they had access to the resources and support they deserved. When she found out about Noah’s Children, she was immediately drawn to the organization and recognized the need for so many children and their families in the community. After meeting all of the amazing people who work for the organization, it sealed the deal for her that this is where I am meant to be!

She comes with 6+ years of ICU nursing experience, the majority of that time being in a level 4 NICU at UVA, caring for many medically complex children and their families. She also spent many of her clinical hours during her master’s program shadowing the inpatient pediatric palliative care team at UVA.

Meredith King has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from JMU and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at NYU. She worked in the Adult Cardiac ICU in Washington DC at Medstar Washington Hospital Center for her first year as a bedside nurse before moving to Charlottesville VA and working for 5 years at UVA’s NICU. She completed her Master Science in Nursing at UVA in 2022 and is now a board board-certified Nurse Practitioner!

She loves cooking and baking, traveling, reading, exercising, and spending time outdoors with friends and family and her two black labs Olive and Basil!

Meredith thanks the families for considering Noah’s Children.

“ It is truly an honor and privilege to be part of your child’s story. Our hope is to bring as much light and joy as possible during an often dark and difficult journey. We know it can be very heavy so let us share some of the weight.”
