Childrens Books

Children books are an often overlooked category, except by the publishing companies that advertise for them. Reading to a child has been shown to increase their mental functioning later on in life in a wide variety of ways. For that reason, there are national read to your child days as well as stepping step programs for accelerating and developing a child’s reading potential. A wide subsection of literature is available including a popular series like Dr. Suess, the Berenstain Bears, Thomas the Tank Engine, Arthur, Sesame Street, and Disney. These popular titles routinely bring millions of book sales as well as controversial issues to light in their otherwise lighthearted text. The increased sales has lead to movie productions, such as the Twilight and Harry Potter series.

Children books are a common trait in any nursery. A well stocked child’s library is a renewable resource. It is generally recognized that after you purchase a book and have your child enjoy it for as long as they desire, you can recycle the knowledge and the potential for understanding by giving or donating the books back to your local library. A secondary advantage is that it is tax deductible. The only disadvantage is that you do not retain the memorabilia from the childhood.
